Cardinals are off their 29 run performance vs. Royals and come in to play the Mets.

The Mets have struggled and the injuries continue to come in as Beltran is doubtful getting an MRI here tonight and the Mets line up will be even weaker than usual. The pitching match up is Wellemeyer vs. Redding which does not exactly scream pitching duel, but we think we are on the right side here.

Wellemeyer has actually pitched better on the road with a 3-1 record and his 5.16ERA is a little off in our opinion. He has better control with a 17:6 K:BB ratio compared to his home 34:26, but the trouble has been giving up HR on the road he has given up 5HR in just 29IP. I do not think this will be a problem here tonight as the Mets are among the leagues worst in HR with Beltran doubtful tonight and Wright just not hitting HR this year look for Wellemeyer to be able to have his best stuff. Wright is 7 for 10 against Wellemeyer but I am sure he won't get much to hit here tonight with the weak line up. The Mets in their last 5 are hitting just .257 with 4.31 R/9 and .245 with 4.21 R/9 last 5/10 games.

Redding on the other hand has not pitched well at all since returning with the exception of a few starts, but he has been awful here at home in Citi Field. He is 0-1 in 2GS witha 8.18ERA. His struggles should continue as the Cardinals are knocking the ball all over the field. .325avg 8.08 R/9 last 5 and .337avg 8.02 R/9 last 10. If they happen to get to the Mets bullpen it should mean more trouble as the Mets bullpen has 9.95ERA last 5 and 7.89 over last 10. Mets manager Manuel said that he was going to be more conscious of putting the bullpen out their too much so I wouldn't be surprised to see Redding pushed to his limits which is bad news bears if you ask me.
