Dodgers beat the Rockies in the opener in 13 innings. Just when you think the Rockies are about done and maybe they come back to life they shut the door with a win after a loss. Marquis threw a two hitter yesterday as the Rockies won again. They'll look to win the series with Jason Hammel on the mound this afternoon against Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw has pitched solid ball in his last three starts he is 2-0 with a 0.96ERA. If Kershaw has control of his pitches he is a dynamic LHP. However, that has been the issue with him all year and he has struggled against the Rockies in the past, but 4 out of his 5 starts against Colorado have come on the road including two this season. His last outing vs. COL was his best he went 6IP gave up 3ER on just 4H but had 4BB. He'll get a much needed home start vs. the Rockies where he posts a 2.06ERA this year. Colorado has struggled vs. LHP as of late .169 scoring just 3.38 runs per 9 innings. The Dodgers are backed by a solid bullpen 0.50ERA last 5 games.

Hammel has been night and day literally on the road/home and night/day. During his day starts he owns a 1.10 ERA compared to his 5.81 night ERA. He has a 2.13ERA away from home this year and he'll go up against a Dodgers club that has just 30AB vs. him and they have a .167 average. Dodgers are struggling overall actually hitting .162 and scoring just 1.98 runs per 9 in their last 5 vs. RHP. With the public on the Dodgers and the line dropping considerably I'm betting Vegas thinks it will be a close game here.

The Under is 12-4-1 in Colorado's last 17 games as a dog +110 to +150.
