You know I really like this despite Gavin Floyd having back to back 5ER performances here. Note those were both on the road where he has struggled all year. At home the White Sox defense has been solid and Floyd owns a 2.55ERA here. He has a start vs. TB this year going 7 innings giving up 6H and 2ER in the beginning of the year when he was actually not pitching well. If you remember Floyd just went through a ridiculous hot streak but fell back down to earth with his last two road starts. In his last start at Minnesota he did not look as bad as his line indicates (7.2IP, 5ER) He pitched well through 4 innings then giving up 3 in the 5th and 1 in the 7th and 8th inning. The Twins who hit at home left only 3 runners on base which is pretty impressive.

Rays will send David Price to the mound who has been awful on the road 7.27away from home compared to his 3.04 home ERA. My worry here is the White Sox have never faced Price in a start so normally I go with that pitcher having the edge, but the White Sox have owned LHP. In fact they are 8-1 in their last 9 games facing a LHP and Price is not a top tier LH starter especially on the road. In the White Sox last 5 games they are averaging .397 and 8.80 R/9, Last 10 = .324, 6.62 R/9 and at home they are hitting .29pts better vs. LHP in average and 1.28 more runs per 9.

The White Sox are also 6-0 in their last 6 with Floyd on the mound as a dog which he was to open here. The Sox are 21-6 in his last 27 home starts. Rays have not played well in Chicago as they are 7-15 in their last 22 meetings here. Go with the Sox as my POD!
