I have been waiting for Jaba's next outing after his last one. He pitched well at home and in my opinion the best he has all season against the Tigers last week. I think he's going to have a big second half as the pressure is no longer on him and the Yankees as they continue to cruise. His line was 6.2IP 8K's 3H 3BB and 1ER vs. a solid hitting Detroit team. The Yankees have won 7 in a row over the A's and the Yankees are 13-3 in Jaba's last 16 starts here at home.

Brett Anderson goes for the A's, but what is the bigger story is the trade of Matt Holliday to the Cardinals which is going to leave a hole in the Athletics line up. Holliday had just started to hit 8-16 in his last 4 games. Oakland was hitting RHP well, but not on the road as they had 3.68 R/9 with .253 average vs. RHP on the road. Anderson has faced the Yankees here before and it was w/out A-Rod in the lineup. He went 5.1IP gave up 9H 5ER and 3HR. He was lucky to escape with just 5ER as the Yankees left 13 runners on base in a 9-7 win. The Yankees are hitting .280 vs. LHP over their last 10 games and .278 scoring 5.93 R/9 at home this year. While the A's are 17-40 in their last 57 road games vs. RH starters now playing without their best hitter in Holliday.

Along with all that the A's have lost 72% of their road losses by more than 1 run. It's going to be a rough stretch for the A's!
