I really like the Braves here and it's mainly to do with Moyer who I just can't see backing in any spot any more. Add in the fact that the Phillies are hitting .188 in their last 4 games with a total of 6 runs and I love this play that much more. Howard and Victorino are a combined 4-33 in their last 4 games and they don't have much success against the Braves starter in Lowe. a They are a combined 6-39 against Lowe.
Lowe has been decent this year and I think he has a great start tonight as he hasn't lost to the Phillies in a dozen years. Lowe had 3 starts and went 19.2 IP giving up 3 ER against the Phillies last year. He is 6-0 with a 2.17 ERA since 2005 in 9 starts against the Phillies.
Moyer on the other hand is 1-7 in his last 8 starts and he struggled in first two starts against Houston and Florida none of which can hit like Atlanta in my opinion. Moyer is 3-4 with a 5.43 ERA since 2006 in 9 starts vs. the Braves. Along with the offense struggling so has the Phillies bullpen which has a 12.10 ERA in its last 5 games compare that with the Braves who are at 1.06 in their last 5. Braves are also 9-2 in Lowes last 11 home starts!
