Syracuse is the better team in my opinion and have looked better against similar competition. South Florida also at a disadvantage here since Syracuse is coming in off a bye. Now South Florida looked good against Memphis, but in reality they should have lost that game by 2 TDâs. They were fairly lucky considering the offense really struggled against a Memphis team that really havenât stopped anyone all year ranking 108th in yards per play allowed. I really thought I was lucky to get a cover with South Florida last Friday night and I look for Syracuse to come in here and get the win.
Both teams want to run the ball ranking top 40 in rushing play %, and Syracuse has proven they are better at doing so, they will come into this game with more depth and fresher bodies with a QB that can run better than South Floridaâs. This is also the best run defense that South Florida will face and Marlon Mack should have a hard time getting anything going. Syracuse has also been dominant on third downs holding opponents to 29% conversions (LSU to 3-10), and have given up just 46.15% TD percentage in the red zone on 13 attempts. They are also +6 in TO margin have the better mistake free team with just 4.3 penalties per game compared to South Floridaâs 7.3.
