I do not often take road teams with this type of chalk, but I think this is a great situation to take the Irish. First of all there have been a lot of misleading games for Notre Dame even in their loss to Clemosn they should have won that game comfortably. The same case happened last week against Temple as they narrowly escaped with a 24-20 win as they were +172 yards in the game, but turned the ball over twice in the red zone. Notre Dame bounces back after negative turnover margin game and typically responds with big victories, but that’s not the only reason I like them here.

First of all this line is a bit of a head scratcher and it’s really telling on how bad this Pitt team is, but are disguised with their 6-2 record. Pitt was down 20-3 last week against North Carolina, and then the Tar Heels took it easy and held on 27-19. I don’t see Notre Dame who is a much better version of UNC on offense taking it easy not when they are 5th in the college football playoff. Other reasons I like Notre Dame is the fact that they have the running game and they have the deep threat in Will Fuller and others and Pitt’s offense just won’t be able to keep up ranking 90th in yards per play. Their one and only weapon is Tyler Boyd, but Keivarae Russel should have him locked down, and most of his plays come on screens anyway which is not the way to attacke a fast and athletic Notre Dame defense. I think Notre Dame is due for a dominating win and I think they do it in order to justify their #5 college football playoff ranking.
