Army +14.5 2.2% play
Notre Dame is #1 in defensive turnovers forced per possession. They have relied heavily on this in order to blow out opponents, but Army is #1 in OTO percentage and they’re not going to give the ball up 6 times like Navy did. Neither one of these teams has played anyone to be honest, and Notre Dame still has that Northern Illinois loss on their resume. I think Army will give them a fight and a scare here as they know how to stop the run ranking 5th in ypc defense. Notre Dame did give up 222 yards to NAVY earlier this year and Bryson Daily is a better runner than Navy’s QB Horvath. Army has a better coach than Navy as well, and they have stopped the run better than Navy 5th compared to Navy’s 87th ranking. Army also 3rd in third down defense compared to Navy’s 117th. Both Army and Notre Dame play really slow and this is a low total Army has given Power 4 teams like Notre Dame issues before. IN 2019 they went toe to toe with Michigan losing 21-24, and then against Wisconsin in 2021 losing 16-20 and those were two top 10 run defenses in true road games. Notre Dame ranks 23rd in ypc, and 70th in rushing success rate.
