Michigan -4 2.2% play
I think Michigan is the right side here off the bye with a chance to regroup. I get the theory that Illinois who ranks 17th in QB rating 26th in passing success rate could have some success moving the ball on Michigan here like Texas and Washington, but I don’t think Illinois has the same offense. First of all Washington had the threat of a rushing attack ranking top 50 in rushing and passing. Illinois does not they rank 104th in ypc, and 106th in rushing success rate. Illinois also ranks 131st in sack % allowed, and Michigan under Wing Martindale obviously likes to bring the pressure. With no threat of a rushing attack I think Michigan has a major advantage on defense in this one. Michigan on offense still wants to run the ball, but it was obvious that they had more of a threat with Tuttle in their at QB. With the 2 weeks to prepare I think the offense will look good and the good news is they should be able to run the ball on Illinois this team just gave up 49 points to Purdue a week ago and rank 105th in ypc allowed 119th in rushing success defense.
