Pitt -3 2.2% play
This game should be fun with two elite QB’s going head to head in Hartman and Picket. On paper it looks like a home game for Wake as it will be played in NC, but Wake doesn’t have a huge fan base to begin with.. I like Pitt to win the game as they have a similar offense, but better defense. Pitt has already seen a better version of this Wake Forest offense when they went on the road to face Tennessee, and I think that helps here.
I also think Pitt’s style of play on defense will be a challenge at times for Wake Forest. Wake Forest’s offense has faced a few top defenses, and have averaged 6 points less in those contests, but Pitt’s aggressive style in the front 7 should really give Wake struggles, which was the case against Clemson where Sam Hartman was sacked 7x in the game. I think Wake will get their points, but unfortunately their defense is going up against a top offense too.
This is the second best defense they have faced, and they lost 27-48 to Clemson. Pitt clearly has a better offense than Clemson as was showcased when they beat them. This is also the second best offense Wake Forest has played, and they were in close games with any team tha had an offense. They beat Lousiville at home 37-34, Pitt has a better defense, they lost to North Carolina on the road 55-58, Pitt has a better defense, and they beat Syarcuse on the road 40-37, Pitt has a better offense, and better defense.
