Utah State +9.5 2.2% play
The Old Wagon Wheel rivalry game here between Utah State and BYU. Utah State was far better than the final against Boise State last week where they lost 27-3, as they drove into Boise territory on their first 4 drives of the game, but came up with 0 points. They had 13 penalties, 3 TO’s, blocked FG and botched a fake punt. Utah State ran the ball pretty well with Calvin Tyler who rushed for 126 yards on a better Boise run defense than BYU’s run defense, which has given up yards on the ground in each game including nearly 8ypc to Utah, and 5 to Arizona State. Utah State ranks 29th in ypc, and will be home going up against BYU who ranks 105th in epa/run defense.
BYU’s offense has not looked like it has lost a beat since losing Zach Wilson with Jaren Hall at QB, but he’s not 100% here, and I wonder how he will do in this game after the rib injury once he is hit. The dog is 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings, and this is Hall’s first road game and Utah State has a very good home field advantage where it feels like the fans are right on top of you. Could BYU be overlooking Utah State after seeing the final score between Utah State and Boise last week, and looking ahead to their home game net week against Boise?
