UCF +7 -125 buy 1/2 point
I have questions down the stretch for this BYU team, we backed Coastal in that road game, and this is a similar game against a similar opponent in UCF. Central Florida played two defeneses that have better #’s and they still put up 26 and 33 points against the Tulsa Defense and the Cinci defense. BYU has to travel to Florida here while UCF stays home. The one concern for UCF is their leading receiver Marlon Williams opted out for the NFL, but Dillon Gabriel has plenty of weapons at his disposal for this game and they will have the advantage at the skill position.
When comparing Coastal and UCF they are quite similar in a lot areas, UCF has the slightly better offense, while Coastal’s advantage is their pass defense as UCF has not been good in pass defense, and they have given up a lot of explosive plays. Overall, I think BYU has largely benefited from a weak schedule, and fortunate situations, like playing Boise without key players, and we saw Boise get dominated in ther Conference Championship making that game less impressive. I expect this to be a game to go down to the wire. Since this moved to +6.5 buying the half point is a great deal with the back door wide open in this one.
