San Jose State +7 3.3% play
I was waiting for another 7 to pop on this game as San Jose State goes back to play in Nevada for the second week in a row.
I think the total could be a little suppressed here with Boise State putting up just 17 points last week in a snow storm with the MW Championship game on deck, but the total has gone up by 4+ points already so we can’t play the over like we originally wanted to. Both teams feature capable QB’s, and WR that will play at the next level. I wanted to take San Jose State here, but the fact that the public is backing San Jose scares me a bit here. Both of these defenses have benefited from playing weak offenses, on average ranking 72.5 and 70.8 YPP perspective.
San Jose State might be a good live bet as they have dominated the third quarter this year 65-21, while Boise State has struggled getting outscored 60-45. All that tells me is that Bryan Harsin is not the best coach in this game. I know Harsin has accomplished a ton with this team, but I’m still not a huge fan, and this is one of the weaker Boise State teams, when you factor in some of their statistical rankings. This was a wild game last year 52-42 win for Boise, and I think San Jose State is better this year and much more balanced.
