This is a horrible spot for a Memphis team that just pulled out their biggest comeback a week ago trailing by 21 in the second half to UCF. UCF led 35-14, and by 12 with under 5 to play before falling apart. Memphis was fortunate as UCF fumbled inside the Memphis 5, turned it over on downs inside the 5, and missed a field goal that would have won the game. Of course, we gave out UCF to clients, and it was certainly a bad beat. Memphis next week has Cincinnati, and Temple has been great in this dog role 21-8 ATS their last 29, and 14-7 ATS in their last 21 as a double digit dog.
Temple has not looked great against two arguably bad teams in Navy and South Florida, but Memphis pass defense is the worst in the country right now, and Anthony Russo is capable QB who should be able to move the ball and keep Temple in this game. Temple won 30-28 last year, and the backdoor if necessary, would be wide open for Temple. Also worth noting is Memphis lost another elite offensive weapon in Damonte Coxie who opted out to prepare for the NFL draft.
