This has to be the public dog of the week with so many people on Boston College with over 80% of the tickets. BC is 3-1 ATS, but they go on the road to face a Virginia Tech team that I feel like is going to take some frustration out on an overrated BC team. BC has been outgained on the season and they are dead last in yards per carry, which is the weakness for Virginia Tech. I actually don’t even think Tech is that bad in run defense, they really struggled against the RPO against North Carolina. That won’t be an issue here against a BC team that’s not running the ball.
Virginia Tech should be able to score at will in this game as we saw when Herndon Hooker took over at QB against UNC. Virginia Tech also wants to go fast, and that I think the large spread is not enough. If you remember this team dominated NC State, who has gone on to pull some upsets while Boston College nearly lost to Texas State. Boston College also ranks outside the top 30 in both passing and rushing success rate on both offense and defense, and that’s out of 75 teams. Virginia Tech continues to get guys back from COVID and I think this may be their best game.
