Florida -13.5 2.2% play

I like the Gators here as we are backing the stability of an existing, quality coaching staff of Florida led by Dan Mullen against a completely new coaching staff implementing new offense and defense with Ole Miss.  Lane Kiffin takes over at Ole Miss, and he brings in DJ Durkin as the defensive coordinator.  Kiffin brings in a different offense, that is going to force Ole Miss most dynamic player Plumlee to the bench as QB Matt Corral is a better fit for what Kiffin does.  Durkin, is taking the worst defense in the SEC last year and forcing them into a new defensive scheme, which will lead to issues early.

Florida has had zero positive COVID cases since July, and have not had any opt outs while Ole Miss have had 27 players miss time in fall camp, and Ole Miss did not have any spring practices.  I think Florida will put up some points here, and I don’t think Ole Miss will be able to keep up.  Lane Kiffin just 1-6 ATS in season openers, and Dan Mullen 17-9 ATS since coming to Florida, and has experience traveling to this Stadium.  Kyle Trask returns as the QB for Florida and he was ranked #2 in the SEC behind only Joe Burrow, as he helped improve Florida’s passing yards per game from 83rd to 16th last year.  Trask does have Kyle Pitts back at TE, who is an NFL guy, and a trio of receivers that saw time last year so I’m not worried about some of the receivers they lost.  To me it seems like a focused Florida team that has a real shot at winning their division in the SEC.
