Rockies have been hot! I've chosen tonight as one of those nights I am going to follow them. Why? They will be going up another rookie pitcher for the Angels something they have shown they can defeat as of last night.
Last night they made Matt Palmer look like a rookie 4.2IP 7H 6ER and 5BB's. As the Rockies cruised to the 11-1 victory. Tonight they go up against another rookie in O'Sullivan who will be making just his 2nd MLB start. The first one he looked brilliant and cruised to a 7IP 1ER performance. Note that was against the Giants a team that is miles away in hitting to where the Rockies are. Rockies are a patient hitting team as they drew 5BB's against Palmer last night. Note that Palmer was no slouch before last night's game as he had a 6-1 record pitching his best baseball at home. The most walks he had in a game before this was 3. Expect O'sullivan to struggle tonight with his control vs. Rockies lineup hitting .307 and scoring 7.24 runs per 9 innings in their last 5 games.
On the mound for the Rockies is Jimenez. he's 3-0 in 23.2IP 1.10WHIP and a 2.66 ERA. LAA has never faced the RHP which gives me more confidence. I'll take a proven pitcher in Jimeneze facing a team that has never faced him over a rookie pitcher making his second start. Jiminez has pitched better on the road this year and more than a run better at night vs. day. 3.17ERA night vs. 4.59day. It's his spot to come up big and I think he will.
