Coming off the perfect 7-0 MLB POD week last night we have now won 9 of 10. I've been down this road before winning the POD's! Tonight we go with the Indians as our POD as I expect Sowers and the Indians to take down the Royals at home who are just 3-18 in their last 21 home games. Ouch!! This team really has just not been the same as they were earlier in the season as a tough home team.
Sowers will go for the Indians and he has 5 career starts vs. KC with a 3.46 ERA. He has just 1 start in KC and it was a gem going 7 IP giving 6H and 1 ER. KC has a collective .178 average against Sowers and are 6-23 in their last 29 games vs. a LH starter as they have a .222 avg scoring just 2.00 runs over their last 10 vs. LHP. Royals will face the RHP tonight who they have seen three times this year.
Meche has looked good, but has not started against the Indians since June 10th. Both teams are in completely different forms since then so I expect a compeltely different game. Meche has a 9.22 ERA with a 2.27 WHIP in his last three games. In fact his ERA at home is 1.71 higher than his road ERA which is 4.02. Meche starting at home tonight makes me feel confident about this match up as he has given up at least 1 HR in his last 7 starts. That is bad news for him tonight as he was successful vs. Cleveland by not allowing a HR in three starts this year. The Indians have started to move up the HR list and are ranked #13 in the league. Another struggle for Meche has been BB's as he has 23 in his last 6 starts. Indians are #7 in the league in taking walks and I expect them to be able to get on base all day pushing Meche out of the game early which is not look good as the bullpen has struggled. BP ERA at home this year has been awful at 5.90 and their available BP in the last three today have a 6.59 ERA. Take the Indians tonight!
