Atlanta has traditionally struggled against the Thunder in terms of covering the spread as they are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 meetings and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 in Oklahoma City. Now they are used to being favorites but tonight they will be dogs for good reason.
Oklahoma City is coming off a nice game at home over the Warriors where Durant was spectacular going 16-21 from the field and scoring 45 points. The Thunder beat Atlanta in Atlanta without a solid game from Durant as he was just 7-19 from the field. The Thunder got away in that game with their solid defense. They are actually 4th in the league in field goal % defense in the league are the the Thunder. The last two road games for the Hawks have been against solid defensive teams in Orlando and San Antonio and they lost both really badly.
Bottom line the Thunder are on their way up and the Hawks have not been that great on the road going 11-11 this year. The thunder continue to improve and they will be solid here again tonight. The Hawks are not playing as good of defense on the road holding opponents to 46.6% shooting and they are getting out rebounded -3.6 rebounds while the Thunder are rebounding +3.8. I imagine that the Thunder will out rebound the Hawks again and you can expect a better performance from the All Star Kevin Durant.
