There is just something magical about this Mountaineers team that I just can't get enough of. During the regular season they burned us plenty of times late in the game, but now they are rewarding us with solid play in the tournament.
I think the 1-3-1 defense of the Mountaineers will give Duke all kinds of problems as a perimeter shooting team. In order for Duke to win they are going to need a monster game out of Zoubek and a great game on the offensive glass. I don't think both will happen. The Mountaineers are one of the best rebounding teams and they do it on the offensive glass just as well as Duke. What is most impressive is their defense. The 1-3-1 held Kentucky and Washington to 16% shooting (7-43) from beyond the arch. They are holding opponents to 21.2% in their last 5. I just think this is just a bad match up for Duke.
Duke is 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. the Big East, and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 NCAA Tourney games as a favorite .5 to 6.5. WVU continues to thrive as under dogs now 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 NCAA Tourney games as dogs.
