Another dissapointing loss last night on our MLB POD, making it two in a row. This time a wasted outing from Brad Penny who I said would pitch well. He went 7 innings gave up just 1 ER, but only won 2-1. We needed the Cardinals to come up with some runs and I thought they would have. Either way we are on a 12-2 overall guarantee MLB run and that continues today!

The Marlins continued hitting last night in their victory and a lot of it has to do with Jorge Cantu who has broken an MLB record that has lasted nearly 90 years. He is the only player to open up his first 9 games with a hit and an RBI in each game. He'll have another good opportunity to continue that trend against Aaron Harang on Thursday. Harang in my opinion is way out of his prime. He had a 5.18 ERA a year ago and the Reds are 1-3 in his 4 game starts since 2004 @ Florida. Florida has a .328 average against Harang in their careers. The Reds are 7-19 in his last 26 starts and 0-5 in his last 5 on 4 days rest. Josh Johnson will also be going on 4 days rest.

Maybe that's just what Johnson needs to get back into his old routine. He's struggled early in the year thus far which is odd considering the righty had ERAs for the first three months of the season a year ago of 2.60, 2.72, and 2.95. I still think he is due and the Reds have only 37 at bats against him. Johnsons' main issue is control right now and I think he gets back on track at home where he posted a 2.67 ERA a year ago. Florida is 21-5 in their last 26 when Johnson starts on 4 days rest.

Random- Home team is 19-7 with Carlson behind the plate in his last 26 games.
