After losing three straight to the Red Sox the Twins come back home really anxious to put that behind them.  The Twins are 10-3 in their last 13 vs. the Brewers and before winning yesterday against the Pirates the Brewers were 0-9 getting out scored 68-31.  Nick Blackburn will take the mound for the Twins and he has turned his season around in May with a 3-0 record with a 2.35 ERA.  He also has pitched well at home where the Twins have been amazing with a 3.43 ERA.  Twins are 22-8 in their last 30 home games, 54-19 in their last 73 inter league games, and 40-19 in their last 55 inter league home games vs. a RH starter.  Blackburn and the Twins are 23-9 in his last 32 home starts.

Dave Bush will take the ball for the Brewers in hopes of keeping the trend of winning.  Bush is 0-3 with a 1.76 WHIP and 3.71 ERA over his last three starts, but in two starts vs. the Twins he’s 0-2 giving up 7 ER 15 hits 5BB in 12.2 IP.  This is particular bad news because before scoreless innings by the Brewers bullpen they had been awful with a 10.25 ERA in their last 10.  They are still the 2nd worst in MLB with a  6.03 ERA on the season.  Diamondbacks have a 7.70 ERA as the only team worse.  I don’t think their bullpen is on the rebound.  I think it had more to do with facing a Pirates line up.  The Brewers are hitting .247 vs. RHP in their last 5 while scoring just 2.38 runs per 9.  Brewers 4-12 in their last 16 inter league road starts.  10-21 in bush’s L31 road games.
