Can’t ignore the Brewers poor pitching during day games that have resulted in their 13-25 record during day games this year.  Cubs on the other hand are a bit better at 24-29.  Brewers come with their worst pitcher in Manny Parra here today.

Cubs have eaten up lefties at home with a .294 average and 5.28 runs per game vs. LHP.  Parra in two starts has gone just 8.1 IP giving up 8 ER.  He’s 2-4 with a 6.38 ERA away from home this year 2-5 with a 6.82 ERA during day starts this year.  He’ll go up against Ryan Dempster to try to cut his 2-9 record in his last 11 road starts vs. a losing team.

Dempster has been on and off but he’s pitched well at home with a 3.70 ERA this year.  Better yet he is 13-3 with a 2.81 ERA lifetime against the Brewers.  He’s 2-0 this year with a 3.72 ERA with one bad start earlier this year when he still was not 100%.  I expect a solid quality start out of him today which should send the Cubs a W as Parra will struggle to get out of his own way.
