Back and excited for MLB final months! The day off really got me excited for what is to come and it starts tonight!

Not a lot of value here, but I believe my bonus play will make up for that big time.  Twins have just dominated the White Sox 20-6 in their last 26 overall and 21-5 at home vs. the White Sox.  Gavin Floyd will go up against a Twins team that has dominated RHP with a .294 average and 5.20 runs per 9 at home including .300 average and 5.57 in their last 10 overall while the White Sox struggle vs. LHP who they will face in Liriano today.  White sox just .236 with 3.61 runs per 9 on the road vs. LHP.  Worse is the Sox bullpen is starting to struggle with a 6.41 ERA over their last 10 games while the Twins have a 3.21 over that span.

Speaking of Span, Denard Span is 10-21 with a .476 average vs. Floyd while Jason Kubel has 4 HR in 32 AB 9 RBI along with 11 hits.  The Twins have a .312 average and .849 OPS vs. Floyd who is 3-6 away with a 3.54 ERA.  In his last start at home he gave up 6 ER in 6.2 IP vs. the Twins and in his last 5 he has a 5.52 ERA, but in just 31 IP he’s given up 45 hits which is an eye opener.  Floyd has always been a pitcher that gives up lots of hits and base runners he doesn’t have strike out stuff.  Liriano is 6-3 at home with a  2.32 ERA and in his 3 starts vs. the White Sox he has a 2.79 ERA with his home start being the best 7.2 IP 6 hits and 2 ER.

White Sox just 3-8 in their last 11 vs. LH starter and 7-19 when Floyd pitches in his last 26 road.  Just 1-11 in his last 12 road games.  Again just proving Floyd is not a big time pitcher and in a big time game like tonight he’ll have to be, but he won’t.

This is about the time of year the Rockies start playing ball to take over a spot for the playoffs.  Rockies have been brutal on the road, but I’m going to back them here tonight as I think they have a distinct advantage and the value is hard to pass up.  Kuroda has a 7.57 ERA career in 5 game starts vs. Rockies as the Rockies have a .371 average and .970 OPS in 70 at bats.  More importantly he’s been bad at home vs. the Rockies too.  Jason Hammel who has really struggled on the road along with the Rockies has a 2.25 ERA lifetime vs. the Dodgers.  Hammel in two starts in 2009 went 15 IP giving up just 13 hits and 3 ER.

Dodgers in their last 5 just .213 average and 1.85 runs per 9 vs. RHP with a 7.36 bullpen ERA and a 7.77 bullpen over their last 10.  Rockies on the other hand .281 and 4.86 runs per 9 vs. RHP in their last 5 with a 0.71 bullpen and 2.00 ERA in their last 10.  The Rockies who lost last night are 7-0 in their last 7 following a loss and 5-0 with Hammel on the mound in his last 5 vs. the NL West and 11-1 in his last 12 game 2 starts.  Dodgers on the other hand are 3-7 in their last 10 vs. NL west and 0-4 when Kuroda is pitching vs. his division.
