Halladay in the race for Cy Young can make another statement start here on the road out west as the Phillies try to continue their success after sweeping the Padres.  It appears the Phillies are in playoff form one of the best September teams in the last 3 years are finally healthy.

Halladay has a 1.86 ERA @ night and a 7-4 record with a 2.42 ERA away from home.  Halladay has not started against the Dodgers this year his last start was in 2007 and he had two starts gave up just 4 ER over 15 IP.  Phillies bullpen will back up Halladay as they have a 1.38 ERA in their last 5 games.  Dodgers go with Kuroda who has been great at home.

Kuroda has a 3.00 ERA over his last 3 and a 3.44 ERA at home, but he faces a hungry Phillies team that is healthy and starting to swing the bat like they are capable of.  In his last start vs. the Phillies he went 1.1 IP gave up 6 ER so the confidence should be riding high with the Phillies with their ace on the mound. Phillies are 15-6 in their last 21 vs. RH starter and 25-11 in their last 36 overall including 38-17 in their last 55 vs. the NL West.  The Dodgers can not claim the same success as they are 8-17 in their last 25 vs. a winning team and 5-16 in their last 21 as an under dog.  Though Kuroda has pitched well they are just 3-7 in his last 10.

De La Rosa has quietly been putting together a stretch of success with 7 straight starts of 3 runs or less.  He’s been really good in his last two starts going 14 IP and giving up 4 ER.  He’s had great success against the Giants in his career in 7 career games where the Rockies have won all 7 with his 2.12 ERA.  He had one bad start of 6 ER if you take that out he has a 1.11 ERA over 40.2 IP.  Rockies have hit lefties well on the road and it’ll be a challenge to hit lefties on the road here tonight but they have a .270 average with 7.04 runs per 9 in their last 5 vs. LHP.  The Giants hitting lefties well, but just .227 average and 5.09 runs per 9 in their last 5.  Sanchez had 2 starts in 2010 against the Rockies and it has been a struggle in both.  Though he only gave up 3 ER he walked 9 guys and gave up 6 hits over just 10.2 IP.  In 10 starts vs. the Rockies he has 52.2 IP and a 5.64 ERA in his last 10 starts vs. the Rockies.
