Niemann did not look so good in his first start after coming off the DL giving up a whopping 10 ER. I think he looks a lot better here tonight. After all he has been great at home and during night starts with a 2.69 ERA and 8-2 record and a 2.85 ERA during his home starts. He goes up against lefty Ricky Romero who is 5-5 with a 4.17 ERA and 4.27 ERA at night. Niemann has three starts and in his two home starts vs. Toronto this year he's been dominant giving up just 7 hits over 15.2 IP and 3 ER. Toronto has a .230 average against him and they are hitting just .209 vs. RHP while scoring 3.50 runs per 9 over their last 10 games overall while the RAys are scoring 5.21 runs per 9 vs. LHP. Last 10 the bullpens hold an advantage for the Rays too 2.08 ERA compared to the Blue Jays at 6.07.

Blue Jays 3-13 in their last 16 on turf 6-14 in their last 20 vs. AL East with Romero on the hill while the Rays are 36-17 in their last 53 vs. a LH starter and 19-2 when Niemann starts in a game 2 of a series. Toronto has struggled here 5-22 in their last 27.
