Don't miss out on Thursdays late night MLB pod it's guaranteed or one day all sports free guaranteed

Doug Fister will go for the Mariners and he has been good of late and against the A’s over his career where the Mariners are 4-1 in his 5 career starts vs. the A’s where he has a 1.80 ERA.  It’s always been an issue of run support this year with any Mariners pitcher just go ask King Felix who would be winning the Cy Young if it weren’t for this offense.  However, the Mariners have 21 runs in their last 4 games and are hitting .279 vs.LHP over their last 5.

Gio Gonzalez goes vs. the Mariners and he’s given up 8 ER 10 walks in 18.1 IP vs. the Mariners in 2010.  He’s got a 1.44 WHIP in his road starts this year compared to Fister’s 1.07 WHIP at home.  Mariners have a .279 average in 104 AB with a .846 OPS vs. the Mariners compared to the A’s .260 .671 OPS vs. Fister.  Advantage goes to the Mariners in this pitching matchup as the A’s are coming off 6 losses and just got swept in LA in extra innings last night.  At this point in the season the A’s really have nothing to play for.. Neither team does for that matter, but being at home and scoring some runs is the Mariners.  A’s do not play well in Seattle 7-19 in their last 26 and they are scoring just 2.86 runs per 9 in their last 10 vs. RHP and they carry a bullpen ERA of 7.56 in their last 10 overall.. bullpen advantage Seattle.
