Rangers get the sweep today. Maddon has gambled and stretched with Baldelli in game 1 vs. Cliff Lee who really didn't even play this year. I don't like him as a manager as he tends to gamble a little too much. Much was the case when he started Jamie Shields when he could have went with Garza or Davis. Today Garza starts, but on the road where the Rays are just 5-16 in his last 21 starts vs. a winning team. Garza's last 3 stops in Texas have not been pleasant as he's gone 15.1 IP giving up 16 ER. Not what I call solid pitching performances with an ERA over9. Although I think he pitches better than his last three starts because he's a competitor and his team needs him. I don't think the rest of his team will help they are clearly struggling with the bats just a .186 average vs. RHP in their last 5 .180 in their last 10 wiht jsut 1.66 runs per 9 over last 10 games. It's not the same Rays team and the Rangers are hitting right now and they have always hit RHP better than LHP. Colby Lewis gave up only 8 ER over his last 5starts and has a 3.41 ERA at home. Just think Rangers have all the confidence and know they must get the sweep.
