You are probably used to my MLB PODS that have been a great investment, but new in 2011 I want to increase that even more and I'll feature a newly branded play my Dog of the day. IT will be the under dog MLB team with the best chance to win. I won't be forcing plays, but if I feel a dog can win and I like the odds you'll get the play! Of course the MLB POD may also be the dog of the day - stay tuned for more

Royals +126 (3* Dog of the Day)
New this year will be my dog of the day plays today it’s the Royals. They hit .280 at home last year and were #2 overall in average in the league. They lacked a power bat that could get those runners home, but I think as we saw in the Cactus league that had them go 20-10 they will have more punch with Butler and Gordon as the guys for the Royals. Angels on the other hand will truly miss Vlad this year and a game vs. a LH starter will show it. Jeff Francis is healthy for the first time this early in the season since 2007 when he went 17-9. While I’m not predicting that for him I expect him to pitch better than a year ago. The Angels did not hit lefties as well taking 1.28 more at bats to score a run than when they faced righties. Francis has two starts a 3.58 ERA vs. the Angels in his career and the active Angels have 30 AB with just 2 hits. Royals have a solid pen and arguably one of the best closers in the game in Soria look for it to be close with Haren on the mound for LA, but in the end the Royals will be able to get a few runs and Francis will pitch better than many think.
