Mariners -120 (4.8* MLB POD)
Really like the Mariners in their home opener tonight despite their slow bats.  They’ll face a young pitcher in Carrasco with plenty of potential but with 6 career starts on the road and a 6.53 ERA I’m not buying into him just yet.  This is a long trip to Seattle this early in the season and the Mariners had an off day yesterday which means they should be pumped for the home opener with Vargas on the mound who held a 2.86 ERA here last year.  Vargas doesn’t have the greatest numbers 7.36 ERA in his career vs. the Indians and a 1-1 record, but vs. the Indians bats they have just 38 AB vs. him and a .158 average. In his start in 2010 he went 7 innings gave up 3 ER so I believe he can repeat that type of performance.  Indians were among the worst vs. LHP a year ago in fact they were #26 in the league in scoring runs with just a ..674 OPS. Indians are just 4-11 vs. LHP while the Mariners are 7-3 in their last 10 as a home favorite.  Eric Wedge is the former skipper of the Indians now managing the Mariners so I expect a small edge on that side of things as well.
