This spread seems way off especially for the Tigers struggles, but a closer look shows them as one of the best day squads in 2010 putting up 4.86 runs per game and the Rangers were just 4.13 respectively but this is a new year and I’m riding with the hotter team and better pitcher. Brad Penny has a lot of work to do before he can be considered a pitcher we are going to back. In his first two starts he has a 2.07 WHIP. He does not have a good career vs. the Rangers hitters as they have a combined 94 AB and a .340 average. That includes two home runs in 5 at bats by Ian Kinsler. Beltre and Young have also enjoyed plenty of success off Penny. In 2009 he had two starts vs. the Rangers and a 7.15 ERA. Now the tigers were one of the better hitting teams vs. LHP in 2010 but without Magglio Ordonez and a team that has struggled this year vs. Lefties I’m going with the Rangers.
