Starting to turn things around we have won three pods in a row and now we go for #4 tonight we will give you another dog play for free

Royals -127 (4.5* MLB POD)
Went back and forth with the Braves and Royals being my picks at play of the day now that I have won 3 straight the confidence is here and I think the Royals bats are hotter right now.  Which is always the case when Alex Gordon is healthy.  They got off to a great start last year too and then Gordon got hurt.  Gordon gives them power to go along with their average which was one of the best a year ago.  Billy Butler is also hot right now he’s hitting .371 in his last 9 games while Gordon is .410 during his 8 game hitting streak.  The other issue for the royals a year ago was the bullpen.  They were a worst 4.46 a year ago and over their last 5 games they seem to be much improved with a 1.72 ERA.  They have the closer in Soria, but if they can bridge the gap they can hang around in the AL Central until the All Star break.  They’ll send a vet out there tonight in Bruce Chen, the lefty is 3-0 in six career starts vs. the Mariners with a 2.27 ERA.  He had a great start in Seattle last year going 7 IP giving up 1 ER and 3 hits.  I think he should be solid tonight vs. the slumping bats of the Mariners who lost again yesterday.  Ichiro is 9-22 vs. Chen, but he’s hitting just .245 this year.  Mariners get Figgins back today but that doesn’t look like a good thing Figgins is hitting .158 and is hitting .169 in his last 21 at Kaufman Stadium.  Overall the Mariners struggle vs. LHP and are hitting just .200 in their last 5 games while the Royals have really picked things up vs. RHP going .315 in their last 5 games.  They’ll face Fister who has gotten off to a fast start, but he faced the Indians and the A’s.  Fister definitely improved in 2010 posting a 4.11 ERA in 28 starts, but the problem is when he is out of the division and not in big ball parks like Seattle and Oakland.  He’s just 1-12 vs. the AL Central and on the road he had a 5.06 ERA compared to his 3.61 ERA at home.  He’s never faced the Royals on the road so this will be interesting.  I think KC can get to him which will lead to 3+ innings of bullpen work which hasn’t been a good thing for the Mariners who have a 5.46 ERA on the year from their bullpen.  There are several other warning signs that Fister will come back to earth from his fast start.  Opponents have a .304 average and that’s .375 from right handed batters. He’s 3-13 in his last 16 road starts and the Mariners likely won’t be giving him run support they are just 16-37 in their last 53 vs. LH starters.

Tigers +139 (2*Dog of the Day)
Can’t help here I love the way Gonzalez has pitched for the A’s but the Tigers really slugged it out against LHP a year ago and winners of two in a row I think they’ll have just enough on Thursday night after their flight to the west.  Tigers have .394 average in 33 AB vs. Gonzalez.
