As bad as Bucholz has been and as good as Weaver has been why are the Red Sox favored. Well Weaver is 1-4 in his last 5 at Fenway and his ERA here is over 7. Heâs also been pretty lucky this year with a .220 avg on balls in play which is one of the luckiest in the league. In a ball park like Fenway with the short porch in left you canât be as lucky and thatâs why Weaver really has not enjoyed much success. Also heâs been pushed back because heâs battling a stomach virus and now he has to go east and pitch. Current Red Sox hitters have had success while Bucholz is 4-2 vs. the Angels in his career. The current Angels hitters are hitting .183 off him with a .529 OPS.
