Texas impressive werenât they on Thanksgiving? Well they get a couple extra days to prepare for Baylor probably the best offense theyâve faced all year and we said that last week before they played A&M. Now theyâll have another tough task, but I think theyâre up for it. Baylor has not faced a defense nearly as good as Texas which is ranked 9th in total defense. Griffin who is a Heisman candidate might have a difficult task as the Texas defense is allowing just32.7% conversions on 3rd down. This is also a defense that held Ryan Tannehill to an 80 QB rating a week ago. The pass defense has stepped up big on the road allowing a 105 QB rating 52.9% and 6 TD while they have picked off 7 passes.
Texas will want to run the ball and thatâs a good recipe to beat Griffin and Baylor by keeping the ball for the majority of the game. Theyâll be able to do it as Baylor is allowing 47.3% 3rd down conversions and are 114th in total defense. Baylor is allowing 5.26 yards per carry at home this season so itâs easy to see how Texas can be in this game and actually come up with a W. Theyâre starting to get healthy to with Jaxon Shipley returning last week along with Malcom Brown. Baylor has had a tendency to fumble the ball with 17 lost on the season that could be an issue vs. a physical defense. Baylor is just 8-18 ATS in their last 26 home games vs. a team with a winning record. Texas is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 as a road dog.
I love LSU here I faded them last week in a similar type game as they faced a balanced offense and a team that could play defense. The result? LSU dominated outscoring them 41-3. LSU has not allowed more than 1 offensive TD all year long to any team and they have defeated all 7 of the top 25 teams they've faced now that is domination. That means Georgia will score 7 maybe 10 or 13 points. I see LSU getting into the 30's or high 20's in this game because Georgia's defense is over rated they have not faced any offenses with any sort of a pulse until Georgia Tech last week and Tech is not balanced and they are not as good as years past. LSU looks like a sucker play at -13.5 but they just keep winning and dominating and they are battle tested I think they'll want to put Georgia away early in this one.
