The Rockies sure are not shy about putting runs on the board and with their success against Edwin Jackson I believe the odds are in our favors backing the Rockies today despite the great play of the Nationals and poor play of the Rockies. Jackson has 3 starts at Coors and posts a 15.75 ERA and a 2.42 WHIP, while The active hitters have a combined 1.096 OPS and a .389 average in 90 AB against. Carlos Gonzalez remains red hot right now and I don’t see the Rockies having trouble putting up runs against a fly ball pitcher like Edwin Jackson.

Yes, Jackson only getting 43% ground balls this year and most of his career. Compare that with Josh Outman who the Nationals have never faced who is getting 50% ground balls and I give the Rockies a better shot at winning. Outman has been unlucky so far despite his 9K/9 he’s allowed .368 BABIP and 49.5LOB%. His xFIP is 3.48 a more clear indication of where he is at. He won’t go deep into the game so the Rockies will rely heavily on match ups and their bullpen. I think the Rockies steal this one.
