Rangers -128 4.5* MLB POD
It’s hard to sweep the best team in baseball even when you are as hot as the White Sox are.  I don’t think it happens in today’s early day game where the Rangers own the 3rd best OPS at .786 and have gone 13-8.  They get the start from Matt Harrisson who has a 1.42 ERA over his last three and is 3-0 with a 2.91 ERA in his career vs. the White Sox holding Konerko, Piercenski, and Dunn to a combined 2-28 and the White Sox combined to 81 AB, .198 average and .628 OPS.  The White Sox just have not been the same team vs. LHP as they are ranked 20th with a .694 OPS and are 3-7 int heir last 10 home games vs. a LH starter and 8-13 on the season.  White Sox are also 8-18 in their last 26 as a home dog so the oddsmakers have been spot on posting them as under dogs.

White Sox get another start from the young and impressive Quintana, but a closer look and 5 of his 9 starts are against the bottom tier teams in the league with just 2 starts against the top 10 as far as OPS vs. LHP goes.  The Rangers are certainly in the top 10 vs. LHP and for a period of time were #1.  In his two starts vs. the Cardinals and Yankees he posted a 5.56 ERA and a 1.85 WHIP.  Quintana really has been fortunate for a young pitcher with an 84 LOB%.  His xFIP is nearly 2 runs higher than his actual ERA.  The Rangers also are hitting .314 with 5.72 runs per 9 vs. LHP on the road.  While the Sox have hit lefties good enough to win their bullpen has not been as good at home.  The Rangers bullpen ERA is 2.04 runs less than the White Sox.  Rangers are also 20-7 in Harrisson’s last 27 road starts.
