Pitt is motivated to get to 9 wins and create some momentum heading into next year. This could easily be a 10 win team. East Carolina will be operating with some young coaches and first time coordinators for this one, and their starting QB opted out as well. Their head coach has stated they will play loose and free, but I don't know if that will work against a Pitt defense in this one. The two times East Carolina faced a top defense they scored 13 and 19 points. East Carolina 119th in explosive offense, I think Pitt will be able to get explosives here with QB Mason Henschel having more time in the pocket. He struggled vs. Notre Dame and Miami who have top 20 pass rushes, East Carolina does not. Both teams play plenty fast so this larger number appears larger than it actually is. I expect Pitt will turn East Carolina over creating extra possessions which will be the difference in this one.
