I am going to fade the Reds here with Jonhny Cueto on the mount. He's just 2-7 in his last 9 starts vs. a winning team and this is the time of the year the Cardinals start to concentrate and get on a run and it's exactly what they have done winning 6 of 7 including the first two games of this series. Their offense has picked it up scoring 4 or more runs in their last 7 games which will be plenty in this match up tonight.
Lance Lynn has dominated this season at home and during night starts posting ERA's under 2.5 in both scenarios he finds himself in tonight. He'll face a REds line up that has struggled all season vs. RHP and of course in St. Louis. The Reds are just 18-41 in their last 59 visits here and even though they have their ace on the mound tonight he has to be due to struggle. This is Cueto's 5th start in a row on 4 days rest and 4th in 5 starts on the road so he's done a ton of traveling and not a lot of rest in between. Cueto has been beat up by Matt Holliday and Jon Jay specifically but overall the Cardinals have a .905 OPS vs. Cueto in 124 AB with a .315 average. The Cardinals offense has really picked it up of late and I think when you take a look at the bullpen advantage they have right now it's a nice price to get them at home at.
