I think this is a good match up for a young Wake Forest team which obviously benefits better from the extra week of preparation and home field. Clemson also had the extra week but has Georgia Tech on deck, a much bigger game. Clemson will have QB Deshaun Watson dressing, but not starting and the unknown of whether or not he will get significant playing time is keeping this as a free play for me. Either way I feel confident as Clemson is 100th in yards per play, and Wake Forest is an under rated defense especially at home.

Wake Forest matches up better vs. the pass which is where Clemson does their damage. Wake is ranked 24th in passing yards allowed and 34th in yards per attempt. The way to beat this team is on the ground and I don't think Clemson has the talent ranked 117th in yards per carry offense with just 2.6 yards per carry on the road. They rushed over 3.5 yards just 2 times and both games they were at home and 1 of the 2 was against an FCS opponent. Now Wake Forest's offense is the worst in the league and Clemon's defense is pretty nasty, but I don't see them taking this team very seriously or where they would have motivation to embarrass them. Expect a defensive game where Wake Forest fades late to lose 20-7.
