We have been getting beat badly during the week on home dogs.  A trend that usually cashes our ticket.  That’s not the only thing that goes into our picks as you know every one of my leans come from conference and team rated formulas that are tuned week in and week out.  These always lead to winners and will continue that the rest of the year.
 
With that said lets get to tonight’s game.  Small play no POD or anything like that.. I like West Virginia as South Florida got out scored last year in their final three road games inside the Big East 41 to 110.  West Virginia comes in healthy as ever.  After a bye week they had a cup cake match up with UNLV and destroyed them.  They are still fresh and ready for this game as they lost this last year on the road.  South Florida very different team and atmosphere on a Friday night.  Whenever South Florida has had to play a team with a defense like West Virginia (Florida and Syracuse, both Top 25 defenses statistically) they have struggled on offense scoring just a total of 23 points.  West Virginia is better than Syracuse on defense.  BJ Daniels continues to struggle to adopt the new throw first offense and the passing offense is ranked 103 out of 120 schools. 
 
In Daniels defense they have faced some tough secondaries with ranks of 39, 61, 23 and 13, but it doesn’t get any easier with West Virginia #20 in pass defense and backing that up with #9 rush defense.  Where this game will be won is with QB Geno Smith and the balanced offense attack.  This is clearly the best offense South Florida has faced this year.  West Virginia is not spectacular but ranked 55th in passing offense with Geno Smith’s 12 TD’s and only 2 INT a clear upgrade over last years QB Jarret Brown.  Devine is just one of the best half backs in the league and the run stop unit for South Florida is the weakness ranked 54th and they have not faced any good running teams yet with an average 79th ranked opponent.
