Oregon is the biggest challenge for UCLA.  Unfortunately for them they are coming off 12 days rest much like themselves.  I expect huge things from Thomas and James and this offense against UCDLA who is ranked 92nd against the run now facing Oregon who is ranked 1st.  I’ll still say we have seen the best of Oregon and their defense is not that great, but they face a one dimensional offense from UCLA.  An offense that scored 7 vs. Cal and 0 points against Stanford at home while Oregon scored 51 against Stanford.  Oregon already had their strongest test against Stanford and they dominated the 2nd half.  Stanford as we already saw is miles better than UCLA as they are not one dimensional and gave the Oregon defense some troubles early.

UCLA’s QB Prince is questionable and although he is hardly the key here the rushing offense ranked 13th is not this good. They have faced 77th average rush defense and have struggled at times.  Oregon knows this team is going to be one dimensional and to me that will be easy preparation in the 12 days leading up to this game.

X-factor is turnovers.. UCLA will try to gun it and if it’s Prince he’s got 5 interceptions in 5 games and Oregon has 22 take aways this year and CB Cliff Harris is a shut down corner who will come up big.  Oregon can score in seconds even if UCLA tries to hold onto the ball here I’m not that worried. I’m going with Oregon here and it’s not a huge play as I don’t normally like taking large favorites but I can’t see UCLA being able to play like they did in Texas.

Phillies are clearly due and their bats woke up last night they just had the wrong pitcher on the mound in Joe Blanton who still gave a decent performance.  That was the first game in how long that the Giants scored more than 3 runs?  I don’t think it happens tonight Halladay should pitch better as most pitchers pitch poorly their next start after a no hitter or perfect game.  Even Halladay had that same issue earlier in the year after his perfect game as he gave up 10 hits and a walk over 7 innings in his next start.  After that he was much better giving up 6 hits 1 ER in 8 IP.  I expect Halladay to come up with a Cy Young like performance.  Ya he’s going up against another Hall of Fame guy with Tim Lincecum, but at the same time Mr. Timmy is battling blister problems and he has not been the same pitcher as years past as he’s got a 3.69 ERA at home this year.  He gave up 6 hits and 3 walks in the first start and I think the Phillies have some advantages here especially with Howard who has dominated him and has 3 HR off him.  This will be a low close game 5.5 runs is too small for me so I’m going with the Phillies not to be shocked here.
