(4* Friday Night Lights)
This is not a play of the day despite it being our only college play I just do not view it in that respect.  Fresno gets an opponent they are very familiar with as they were in the same conference just a year ago.  They get them on their own turf and in front of great fans in what is a game they have been pointing to.  However, they lost 51-0 last year which I believe will be motivating for them and they have the tendency to give up big plays this year which if they can solve they can have a solid defense as there is plenty of talent.  For that reason I’m not ready to make this a play of the day but I’m plenty confident Fresno will be in this game and cover this spread.

For one thing Boise has struggled when teams mark them on their calendar and then they pull away late.  The last time they played here was two seasons ago and guys like Titus Young, Pettis, and Kyle Wilson were still running around.  Kellen Moore just came off 146 yards and 2 Interceptions his worst start ever and I believe it’s only going to get harder as he clearly has not had the same weapons around him and the running game has not been the same only averaging 3.7 yards per carry.  Look for Fresno to take advantage because they can score points.  They have a balanced attack and they’ve shown in the past they can run on talented Boise teams.  In 2009 they ran for 8.2 yards per carry and Robbie rouse had 53 yards on 7 carries.  Ryan Mathews was still there but Rouse is largely considered just as good and one of the best in the country.  They also have a passing game with weapons in the receiving game that could create problems for Boise as they start a corner for just the second time in their secondary and Fresno has Jalen Saunders a quick dangerous player and WR/PR Sr. Devon Sylie who has 30 yard punt returns in 4 straight games.

Fresno has scored 1st in 5 straight games this year and are going to be pumped up for this game as they should be.  Boise is the highest rated team ever to visit Fresno and Fresno State over the past few years have scheduled difficult non conference games for a reason.  They already have played Miss, Nebraska and Cal and they beat a good Illinois team here last year as TD dogs.  We will see if it pays off tonight if they can finally be competitive and it will be ironic since Boise is now playing in the Mwest.
