Cure Bowl Georgia State (6-6 Sun Belt) +6 vs. Western Kentucky (6-6 Conference USA)

Coaching, Location, Conferences & Motivation
The Cure Bowl being played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando Florida.

Conference USA has gone 15-5 SU the last three years vs. Sun Belt and I think the right team is favored.

Western Kentucky's coaching staff is very inexperienced all first time coaches. It was a rough year after losing Jeff Brohm to Purdue. Mike Sanford the first time head coach and all of his assistants have never held that role before. It was a bit of a rocky season as they covered the spread in just 3 of their 12 games. Western Kentucky used to conference championships and bigger bowls, but it's still just their 5th bowl all time (3-1 record). All 3 wins under Jeff Brohm the last 3 years. In 2014 they played in the Bahamas Bow, 2015 Miami Beach, and last year Boca Raton against Memphis.

Georgia State making just their second bowl game. They lost to San Jose State in 2015 on this same field. This is a veteran coaching staff lead by head coach Sahwn Elliott who has 20 years of coaching experience in winning programs such as South Carolina and Appalachian State. He was even the interim HC at South Carolina when Steve Spurrier left. This is his first year at Georgia State .

X's and O's
Georgia State has two strengths. They are pretty decent at stopping the run ranking 46th, and they can pass the ball ranking 31st, but they rank among the bottom of the nation in rushing the ball and stopping the pass.
Western Kentucky strength is passing the ball ranking 9th, but they are completely one dimensional ranking 130th in running the ball. Defensively they can stop the pass ranking 36th, but 77th vs. the run. They match up well with Georgia State whose weaknesses are Western Kentucky's strengths.

Lean: Georgia State, but very small likely not a play I release. More interested in the over with these two teams who like to pass the ball and their strengths are passing the ball.
